On the morning of November 20, Global Energy Internet Campus Tour Lecture organized by the State Grid Corporation of China was held in Room 301 of the Student Recreation Center. Zhao Qingbo, Chief Economic Manager of State Grid Corporation of China made a wonderful speech to the teachers and students of HIT. He talked about issues related to the global energy internet, and gave Global Energy Internet (English version) to HIT as a gift. Wang Shuquan, Secretary of HIT Party Committee, Zhao Qingbo, and Ding Yangyi, General Manager of State Grid Heilongjiang Electric Power Company had a meeting before the speech.
Zhao Qingbo said, "World Energy Outlook is the basic theory and viewpoint on sustainable development of global energy, the core of which is to analyze and solve global energy problems with a global, historical, diversified and open position." He introduced the newly-published book Global Energy Internet written by Liu Zhenya, Chairman of State Grid Corporation of China during the lecture. In addition, Zhao Qingbo also explained related concepts and knowledge of global energy internet construction from the aspects of the severity of global energy development condition, the inevitability of alternative energy and electric energy, the necessity and feasibility of global energy internet construction, and the construction method and development prospects of the global energy internet.
Currently, global energy development is over-reliant on fossil fuels, making energy security, environmental pollution, and climate change become increasingly prominent issues. Building a global energy internet and forming an electricity-centered global energy allocation system is the only road to implement "two alternation", promote green energy and low carbon development, and ensure a sustainable energy supply. Zhao Qingbo said, the essence global energy internet is "ultra-high voltage power grid + smart power grid + clean energy", and is also part of the "internet of things" which integrates energy transmission, resource allocation, market transaction, information interaction, and intelligent service into one. He also mentioned that under the sequence of "China first, Asia second, and then inter-continental", the process of constructing global energy internet should be developed into three stages, namely, domestic connection, Asian connection, and intercontinental connection. Developed regions could take the lead in achieving international or intercontinental connection. It is imperative to strengthen the cooperation at home and abroad, and to achieve a comprehensive breakthrough in the mechanisms, planning, technologies, standards, and policies, he said.
Zhao Qingbo also answered related questions from teachers and students during the lecture.
