The job fair from five campuses in the Northeast of China targeting architecture majors and the large-scale job fair in autumn were held in our school in succession on November 20 and 21. The above two job fairs attracted about 100 and nearly 450 employers respectively and over 20,000 graduates applying for jobs in Heilongjiang Province. It was learned from the reporters that the number of Heilongjiang enterprises and other types of employers who participated in the job fair reached 70 including several start-up companies by college students rooted in Heilongjiang Province which received respectable consultation and attention of graduates.
As can be seen from the job fair by the reporters, the Heilongjiang enterprises and employers include large and medium state-owned enterprises ,such as Harbin Electric Cooperation, Harbin Electric Machinery Co., LTD, Harbin Dongan Auto Engine CO.,LTD, etc and scientific research institutions and universities such as Daqing Institute of Urban Planning and Architecture Design, Harbin Institute of Science and Technology, etc and high and new technology enterprises like Harbin XiRobot Technology Co., LTD and Harbin ALS Robot Base Technology Co., LTD.
In order to attract and keep talents, Daqing Institute of Urban Planning and Architecture Design provided considerable one-off setting-in allowance subsidy for outstanding undergraduates and postgraduates and provided a broad platform for their career development. The recruiter told the reporter, they receive a large number of resumes from graduates from Heilongjiang Province each year. Most graduates will choose to settle down in Daqing and graduates from HIT have become a business backbone after years' experience.
In addition, Small Smart UAV Co., LTD, Dagong Zhuoyue Educational Consulting Business and other companies set up by students and graduates from HIT attracted a lot of attention for their passionate, vigorous and strong potential. Taking Small Smart UAV Co., LTD as an example, the company was set up in April, 2015 and its main business is the research, development, production and sale of the quad-rotor Unmanned Helicopter. Most of the team members were born in or the after 90s, including software gurus, hardware experts, and technical personnel from famous enterprises. It is worth mentioning that these start-up companies have received great support from our school and Heilongjiang Province in many ways.
The reporter found that the employers in the two job fairs also include the companies which mainly operated “Internet+”, intelligent manufacturing, new energy, environmental protection, such as Haier Home Furnishings, China Faw New Energy, Shanghai Lin Shi Laser Technology Co., LTD, Voltronic Power Technology Corporation, and Lideheng Environmental Protection Engineering Co., LTD. They all received attention from the job hunters.
The reporter also learned that, except the requirement of “highly educated and high starting point”, the employers also demand the comprehensive quality of graduates. Professional counterparts, educational requirements, project experience and practical ability and other rigid indexes have been mentioned many times and become a series of thresholds. The recruited graduates of BUAA and NCEPU are mainly masters and doctors, and their experiences of scientific research, the number of essays adopted by SCI are all essential indexes of evaluation. China Electronics Technology Group set up multiple subordinated research branches according to location and professional guide, the CETC47 is specialized in semiconductor devices, and CETC34 is specialized in fiber optical communication systems. The related jobs demand the candidates have a master’s degree, and experience of project development.
On the other hand, some employers are also in favor of outstanding undergraduates with development potential. HIT Robot Group appeared in the The Job Fair from Five Campuses in Northeast of China for the first time and its recruiter told the reporter that they specialize in cutting-edge technology so they put more emphasis on masters and doctors and they also welcome the undergraduates who have abilities and experiences in project development. Chongqing Iron and Steel Co., LTD focus on recruiting undergraduates from electrical engineering, automation, thermal engineering, structural engineering and other majors.
The reporter interviewed some of the graduates randomly and asked their conditions when hunting for a job. The undergraduate of Electrical Engineering College of HIT, Mr. Zhang told the reporter that the employers not only examine the job seekers’ comprehensive quality but are also concerned whether the graduates will stay here in the future. He reminded his academic brothers and sisters to seek opportunities to practice and improve themselves. Another graduate, Mr. Deng from another college in Heilongjiang said that he has reached employment intention with a company in Zhuhai City, and his employer paid attention to the practical operative ability of graduates. He is also looking forward to steeling himself in this aspect.
