On April 19th, Professor Federico Rossi was employed as an Honorary Professor of HIT, and was issued a letter of appointment by President Zhou Yu. Professor Federico Rossi is an academician of The Academy of Science of the Royal Society of Canada, Academy of Engineering, and European Academy of Sciences, as well as the Chief of the Research Center of Energy, Material, and Telecommunications in Canada's National Academy of Sciences.
Principle Zhou hopes that Professor Federico Rossi can have deep communication with the students and teachers of HIT in the pioneering researches of relevant courses, and contribute more to faculty establishment and talent cultivation. Federico Rossi acknowledges the achievements of HIT in the researches of chemistry and chemical engineering and materials engineering, and expresses his honor at becoming an honorary professor. He intends to make a contribution to the establishment of HIT being one of the world-class universities by using his own advantages and further cooperating with the relevant courses in HIT.
Professor Federico Rossi is one of the best scientists of surface science and Nano energy materials. Since 2009, he has set up a good cooperation with the School of Chemistry Engineering of HIT. Since 2011, he has begun to offer guidance to the specific research topics together with Professor Fleming Besenbacher, who is the chief academic adviser of the chemistry industry course of HIT. In 2015, Professor Federico Rossi drove the research center of energy, material, and telecommunications in Canada's National Academy of Sciences led by him to build the cooperation in science researches with HIT, and also actively promotes HIT to be the main partner of UNESCO in the area of energy transition, saving, and storage.
