The opening ceremony of the Joint Innovation Center of Commercial Aircraft Engine Manufacturing Co., LTD and HIT aircraft engine composite materials and structural strength (hereinafter referred to as the Joint Innovation Center) was held in the International Conference Center 206. President Zhou Yu met Feng Jinzhang and his party. Feng Jinzhang, the vice-general manager of Commercial Aircraft Engine Manufacturing Co., LTD and Han Jie, the vice president of HIT co-signed the agreement to establishing the Joint Innovation Center and inaugurated the Joint Innovation Center.
At the meeting, Zhou Yu pointed out that HIT has always been committed to national development during its more than 90-year education. It is based on spaceflight to serve national defense, and obvious spaceflight characteristics and advantages in the fields of talent cultivation, discipline construction, scientific research and social service have been formed. Numerous achievements have been applied to spaceflight, national defense and economy, which won the approval of the nation and society. On the background of completely implementing the strategy of development driven by innovation, HIT will definitely shoulder the historical responsibility and further deepen the cooperation between universities and enterprises, so as to be sincerely cooperative with each other, focus on advantageous resources, emancipate minds, broaden horizons, achieve collaborative innovation and overcome difficulties. As a result, new force will be injected into the development of commercial aircraft engine.
Feng Jinzhang indicated that HIT is a first-class domestic and world famous university. It has made great achievements in spaceflight and national defense, which has made an important contribution to national development and social progress. He hoped, taking the Joint Innovation Center as a platform, both parties should take advantages in the aspects of technology, talents and resources, so as to form an alliance between giants. Both parties should also reform with keen determination and do solid work in terms of mechanism, operation mode and collaborative innovation, so as to, at the earliest time, reach the goal of establishing a highly-ranked international joint innovation center of commercial aircraft engine.
At the meeting, both parties respectively introduced their own overall conditions and industry-university-research situation. A discussion about mechanism innovation, operation mode, resource sharing and joint innovation of the Joint Innovation Center was also carried out.
According to the agreement, with the principles of “complementary advantages, mutual benefit, equity and free will and win-win development”, the two parties jointly established “The Joint Innovation Center of Aircraft Engine Composite Materials and Structural Strength”, commonly aimed at making technological innovations in the relative fields of commercial aircraft engines. The Joint Innovation Center will concentrate on setting up a market-oriented system of scientific and technological innovation with the combination of production, teaching and research, while taking enterprises as the main body. It will focus on scientific research about composite materials and structural strength of aircraft engines. The main research contents include: the evaluation of composite material blade fatigue life, the damage evolution and intensity forecast of composite materials under the condition of hot vibration, the design and evaluation of composite materials and structural resistance, the vibration mechanics of composite material structures, the design and evaluation of composite material blade aerodynamics and manufacturing mechanics of composite materials and structures. The two parties will work together to establish a strategic alliance, so as to achieve a win-win cooperation and make common development and progress. More importantly, they will make best efforts to build the commercial aircraft engine joint innovation center as a highly ranked international one.
