HIT Cooperated with the Far Eastern Federal University in Building the China-Russia Polar Region Project Research Center

The inauguration ceremony of the China-Russia Polar Region Project Research Center jointly built by the School of Civil Engineering of HIT and the School of Engineering of FEFU was held in the Administrative Building, Room 101 on June 16th in order to promote the academic exchange between HIT and FEFU and enhance the bilateral and substantial cooperation of the scientific research.

The vice-president of HIT Xu Dianguo participated in the inauguration ceremony. Secretary of the Party committee of School of Civil Engineering of HIT and the director of the School of Engineering of FEFU Baker unveiled the nameplate for the Research Center together.

Xu Dianguo indicated that the cooperation between HIT and FEFU is endowed with the geographical advantage, deep communication foundation and extensive cooperation space in his address. The construction of the China-Russia Polar Region Project Research Center will build a platform to develop academic exchanges and joint research of China and Russia to promote the cooperation of HIT and FEFU in oceanic ice-resistant platform, frozen soil engineering in cold region and other polar region engineering.

The Russian director of the research center-Professor Baker and the Chinese director of the research center-Professor Wang Wei indicated in their addresses that the research center will depend on the ASRTU and give full play to the bilateral dominant subject resources and realize the effective connection of the scientific and technological achievements and the industry-university-research cooperation facing up to the key science and leading issues of China and Russia. The research center will explore the new cooperative mode of resource sharing positively and lead the development direction of the polar region engineering to make great contributions for China, Russia and even the world in this field and make a solid foundation for building an innovation centre for science and technology with international influence.

The relevant directors of The Department of the International Cooperation and the School of Civil Engineering of HIT joined the inauguration ceremony.
