2016/06/15

In the eighth International Radiation Transmission Seminar in Turkey on June 9th, the Elsevier publishing group issued the Elsevier/ Raymond•Weisskanta Young Scientist Award of this year. Professor Zhao Junming from School of Energy Science and Engineering became one of the two prize winners and he is also the first Chinese young scholar who wins the honor.

The Elsvier/Raymond•Weisskanta Award was named after Raymond•Weisskanta who is the academician of the American Academy of Engineering and the professor of Purdue University in memory of his great contributions in radiation transmission since 1950s.

Zhao Junming is mainly engaged in the fundamental research of radiation heat transfer in complicated media including the advanced radiation transmission model and numerical method, properties of surface and particle thermal radiation , nano-scale radiation transmission and the near field radiation heat exchange and the regulation of the surface radiation properties in complicated media during the process of heat transmission and measurement. He is the member of the Science council of the International Federation of Heat and Mass Transfer and the reviewer of many international journals. He published over 30 academic articles on the prestigious academic journals in Applied Physics and Heat Transmission together with a monograph. He was awarded for The Excellent Doctoral Dissertation in HIT and nominated for The Excellent Doctoral Dissertation in China. He was chosen into the Outstanding Talent Program of Fundamental Research and the Recruiting and Selecting Plan of the Outstanding Young Scholars.
