On May 30, HIT President Zhou Yu and Vice President Han Jiecai and Ren Nanqi meet with NTU “KhPI” (National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute”) President Sokol and Vice President Khrypunov as well as First Secretary of Ambassador of Ukraine in China Artem and have an in-depth discussion on personal training, scientific research and innovation, technology transfer and other issues.
Mr. Zhou introduces the overall situation of HIT and recalls its history of exchanges and cooperation with universities of former Soviet Union and Ukraine. He also expresses the wish that this visit will promote the cooperation and exchanges between HIT and NTU “KhPI” and other scientific research institutes in Ukraine so that they can give their respective advantages a full play, establish the docking mechanism, and facilitate the cooperation in such areas as joint training of high-level talents, academic exchange and interaction among experts and scholars, and high-tech equipment research and development.
Mr. Sokol introduces the history, discipline advantages and scientific achievements of NTU “KhPI” and points out a certain similarity in major setting between those two universities, which lays a sound foundation for the building of a cooperation platform, student exchange programs, teacher visits and joint research projects. He hopes to broaden the fields of cooperation between the two universities’ preponderant disciplines to bring the bilateral relation to a new high.
Mr. Han and Mr. Ren have an in-depth discussion with Ukrainian counterparts on scientific research and innovation, talent cultivation and other topics, reaching an intention to form cooperation.
Relevant people from Science and Industrial Technology Research Institute, Department of International Cooperation and HIT Qingdao Science and Technology Park also participate in the meeting.
