The 2016 China-Ukraine Forum on Science and Technology, which was co-directed by State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs P.R. China, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China, the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Academy of Technological Sciences of Ukraine and hosted by HIT, was held in our school on July 5 to 7. Over 80 Ukrainian academicians and experts and over 300 Chinese experts and researchers attended the forum.
Sun Yao, the vice governor of Heilongjiang Province, Academician Han Jiecai, the conference chairman of the Chinese side and vice president of HIT, Wassily, the conference chairman of the Ukraine side and Academician of the Academy of Technological Sciences of Ukraine, Yu Qi, the deputy director of the Department of International Cooperation of China National Space Administration, delivered speeches respectively at the opening ceremony. Artyom Rozhdestvensky, the first secretary of the Embassy of Ukraine in China, read out the congratulatory letter for this forum from Mr. Oleg, the Ukraine ambassador to China.
Sun Yao expressed in his speech that, Ukraine and China are friendly and cooperative partners and we always have close relations. The “Ukrainian Day” and the first “Science and Technology Cooperation Exchange”, which were held during the “China Harbin International Economic and Trade Fair”, established the foundation for further promoting the talent exchange, industrial upgrading and regional cooperation between Ukraine and Harbin, Heilongjiang Province. Over these years, HIT has have a profound development with scientific research institutions of Ukraine on the fields of education and technology. This forum has been attracting growing number of people and expanded its influence gradually, which was provided as a communication platform for the experts and scholars from both Ukraine and China on various fields. We hope this forum will be better in the future and become a brilliant part of two countries science, technology and humanity exchanges. We hope that Ukraine and China can join our hands together to combine the wisdom and strength of our technology talents, and be able to work together for our scientific and technological cooperation, the construction of B&R and regional economic development.
Han Jiecai expressed in his speech that, there is a time honored history of the cooperation between HIT and Ukrainian colleges. In there few years, we have a more friendly relations between our two countries’ colleges, more frequent exchange and cooperation on scientific research innovation, teaching cooperation and visit of teachers and students with wider range and profounder meanings. This forum established a platform which is helpful for researchers to conduct scientific exploration, achievement transformation and discipline construction, and will make a firmer foundation for the further technology cooperation and humanity communication. He hoped the attended scholars could hold this opportunity, and exchange their ideas, deepen their friendship and achieve new cooperation, and make some contributions to our two countries economic and technological cooperation, social development, and the long-lasting friendship of our people.
An Shi, the conference executive chairman and vice president of HIT, and the secretary-general of the Academy of Technological Sciences of Ukraine jointly unveiled the nameplate of the Harbin Institute of Technology - Academy of Technological Sciences of Ukraine Technology Communication Center. The Center will focus on strengthening the technological cooperation and technological innovation on both sides, promoting the deeper communication of our scholars, and manage to become the important platform of the academic exchange and cooperation between Ukraine and China.
Guo Bin, the executive chairman of forum and vice president of HIT, hosted the opening ceremony. Chen Yu, the division chief of Department of Economy and Technology, State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs P.R. China, attended the opening ceremony. During the 3 days, experts and scholars of Ukraine and China through the conference keynote speech, group reporting and project matching, conducted in-depth discussion of issues and front directions in various fields of electronics, materials, energy and others, and actively promoted the communication and cooperation of science and technology projects between Ukraine and China.
