On 5th June, “Liu Dong Zhong Guo - International Students Sunshine Sports & Culture Tour” and The 2nd International Culture Carnival of Harbin Institute of Technology was held in HIT. The deputy director general of Education Department of Heilongjiang Province Zhao Lin and Secretary of the CPC Committee of Harbin Institute of Technology Wang Shuquan struck the gong together for the opening ceremony of this activity.
Academician Tu Hailing, the honorary President of the General Research Institute for Nonferrous Metals, Gao Ruiping and Xie Jianxin, the Academician of University of Science & Technology Beijing, gave the invited talk entitled as “Outlook Report of the Thirteenth Five-Year Plan of the Advanced Materials Industry”, “Materials Science and Basic Research” and “Materials Genome Initiative” respectively. Li Jianbao, the president of Hainan University, Feng Wei, the Professor of Tianjin University, Liu Changsheng, the professor of East China University of Science and Technology, Zhao Yuemin, the professor of China University of Mining and Technology, Li Guangxian, the managing vice president of Sichuan University, gave reports and advice entitled as “Some Advice for the Planning and Construction of ‘marine ranching in the South China Sea’ and flourish the Island ecosystems to realize ‘fishery development and border stationing’”, “Some Advises of Actively Promoting the Depth Development Pattern of Civil-Military Integration”, “The Reform of Scientific Research Evaluation in Higher School”, “The policy of vigorously promote clean coal washing, processing and efficient utilization in China”, “Serve the national requirements, strengthen the school-running characteristic and construct the characteristic world-class universities”, “ the theory and key technology of coal dry separation” and “the new methods of life prediction, verification and failure prevention of high polymer materials in a complex environment”.
The participating experts and scholars carried out deep discussions on the following topics: the research and application of new materials, the strategic research of the leading edge materials, “the Thirteenth Five-Year” material special engineering planning and key research planning program, the development of advanced material industry, the materials science and basic research, disciplinary crossing and integration, materials genome initiative. These experts and scholars fully exchanged their views and suggestions on the strategic research reports and guidance of key programs.
On 21th August, the materials science significant demand and sci-tech frontier strategic round-table conference and the seventh working conference of Materials Science Department of Higher Education Ministry of Education, which were sponsored by Science & Technology Commission of Ministry of Education and hosted by Harbin Institute of Technology, were successfully held in Harbin. Gao Ruiping, the deputy director of National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), and Zhang Jianhua, the director of Department of Higher Education Ministry of Education, attended the meeting. Academician Han Jiecai, the director of Science & Technology Commission of Ministry of Education and the vice president of HIT, conducted the meeting and introduced the 2016 working points and work tasks of the Materials Science Department of Science & Technology Commission of Ministry of Education.
