HIT Won the First Prize on the 9th National College Student Information Security Contest

The 9th National College Student Information Security Contest national final ended in Shanghai. The team formed by four 2013 Grade undergraduates, which was instructed by mentor Zhai Jianhong and Yu Xiang from School of Computing, won the first prize in the national final. The team members were Ge Mengmeng, He Shoushuai, Zhao Yuxiao and Wang Xudong. The other four teams of HIT won a third prize.

The contest was sponsored by the National Network Security and Informatization Leading Group, Department of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education, the Central School Department of Communist Youth League and Advisory Committee of Information Security Teaching in Higher Education, Ministry of Education, and hosted by Shanghai Jiaotong University. National College Student Information Security Contest is important annual work of Advisory Committee of Information Security Teaching in Higher Education, Ministry of Education, and it is also the first national major event after “Security of Cyberspace” was approved as a national first-level discipline.

The contest formally started in March, 2016. It was formed by Information Safety Works Competition and Innovation Practice Competition, and over 5,000 people forming 951 teams from 260 universities signed up for the contest. After the experts preliminary assessment and online preliminary contest, 162 works from 58 universities entered the final of the Information Safety Works Competition and 16 teams from 16 universities entered the final of Innovation Practice Competition.
