On September 28, Prof. Liang Jianzheng, who is the Chairman of the Technology Innovation & Research Institute of Taiwan CPT Co., Ltd. as well as the Special Assistant of Board Chairman and the Executive Vice Chairman of Taiwan CPT Co., Ltd., gave a speech at the Scientists Forum hold at Activity Center for teachers and students. The report was entitled as "Crisis or Turn ——the Application of IOT (Internet of Things) Combined with Big Data”
In his lecture, Professor Liang referred to a famous quotation from A Tale of Two Cities written by Charles Dickens " It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, " he said, noting the importance of right decisions in the face of crisis and turnaround. Combining the development process of the display in 20 years—it has involved from monochrome color to various colors, from flat to stereoscopic imaging, Professor Liang introduced the current and future status of the display industry, elaborated the truth that "right choices will lead to success, while the wrong choice will lead to failure, and the invariable one is destined to diminished." Furthermore, he gave a deep but simple summary on the effects of the IOT and big data in many aspects, such as shopping habits, communication and human life. Finally, Professor Liang Jianzheng also shared his principles of " potential stimulating, integration with concepts and cooperative teamwork" in talent cultivation, and he referred a proverb in Chinese traditional work Han Feizi "wise king makes full use of the mass’s wisdom, the general king takes charge of the mass’s strength, while the junior king can only urge his own abilities to control a country.” in order to explain the concept of finding and employing talents.
Professor Liang Jianzheng served as a researcher at Stanford International Research Institute, and devoted himself to the field of electronic materials, optoelectronic materials and displays. He established the first large-size C-STN LCD factory, the first large-size TFT LCD factory and the first Large PDP plant in Taiwan.

The 41st plenary and working group meeting of ISO geometrical product specification technical committee was held from September 19th to 30th in Shanghai. The conference was sponsored by the technical committee of geometrical product specification, and jointly organized by national technical committee of geometrical product specification standardization and HIT. Committee members who come from dozens of countries and regions around the world attended the conference.
Under the background of “Made in China 2025”, geometrical product specification standardization, as the fundamental pillar of Chinese manufacturing, has strategic importance in promoting the development of Chinese manufacturing At the conference, hundreds of committee members that come from world-famous measurement institutes and scientific research institution, such as NIM, NIST, PTB, NPL, etc, and international enterprises, such as Siemens, Boeing, and GM, etc. had discussions on the uncertainty, dimensions, surface and contour, geometric tolerance and other problems of specification and standardization, which centralizing the issue of standardized technology in the geometrical product specification. The research center of HIT precise instrument engineering, lead by Tan Yongbin along with other professors, as Chinese technical committee members and experts, presented the conference.
The technical committee of geometrical product specification is responsible for the enactment and amendment of the international standards of ISO geometrical product specification, and it holds teleconferences for relevant technical discussion several times, also holding once or twice official meetings for standard examinations and votes.
