On October, 12, 2015 Statistical Data of Chinese S&T Papers Release Conference is held in Beijing, announcing the number of papers published on SCI, EI and CPCI-S by various research institutions. HIT ranks high among kinds of research institutions regarding both quality and quantity. In the natural science field, with 3282 papers published by SCI, HIT ranks 13th among other universities and colleges, 3966 papers in EI, ranking 3rd, 576 papers in CPCI-S, ranking 5th. Four famous magazines, Science, Nature, Cell and PANS, accepted 3HIT articles, which gives HIT the rank of 14th among the members. The number of 2015 HIT internationally cited paper has reached 20820, ranking 12th,as well as “well-behaved” paper, cited above the average, amounting to 1264, ranking 14th. The first tenth of articles of Impact factor reach 248, ranking 12th, and co-authored SCI articles amount 811, ranking 8th. HIT has 4 articles chosen as 2015 China’s most influential international one hundred papers, tied with Peking University in the second place.
In order to help researchers change their focus from valuing the number of article to valuing the quality and influence, China Institute of Science and Technology Information published China excellent international paper since 2016. The excellent international science and technology paper consisted of both domestically and internationally published articles. The international papers include those articles are cited above average in each field. In 2015, HIT produced 1264 China excellent international articles, taking up 38.51% of Articles and Reviews, and ranking 14th.
In recent years, through strengthening target orientation and revising related policies, HIT has improved science and technology papers evaluation system. By carrying out differential incentives and increasing rewards to highly influential academic papers, HIT science and technology papers have successfully achieved intensive growth both in quality and number, and highly influential article production has come out in front of other universities.
