On 13th December, 2016 National Natural Science Fund Management Conference was held in Beijing to commend the advanced units, regional network and workers making great contributions to National Natural Science Fund Management during the 12th Five-Year Plan. HIT wins the honorary title of “Advanced Unit of National Natural Science Fund Management”. Han Jiecai, the vice-president of HIT accepts the prize on behalf of the university. Wang Xiaohong, the president of Science and Technology Research Institute made a statement.
The award is granted every five years and is intended to commend the units and individuals who have made outstanding achievements in the management of science fund. The National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) has selected 20 advanced units and 100 excellent workers from 3097 universities and research institutes.
In recent years, with the high attention and support of HIT, the Science and Technology Institute upholds the concept of excellent management, continuously innovates its working mode in the management of the science fund, fosters the innovation source and creative talent, builds sustainable academic ecology and helps teachers to show themselves in a variety of competitive projects. During the 12th Five-Year Plan, HIT undertook more than 1850 National Natural Science Fund projects with funds of nearly 11 billion yuan, which is three times as much as that in 11th Five-Year Plan. The Engineering and Materials Science Department took the second place in the national universities. Among them, HIT has 2 national innovation research groups, 15 national outstanding youth fund, 28 excellent youth fund and 790 youth fund. The number of National Outstanding Youth Funds of HIT has been ranked in the 10th place among all the universities in the country (including medicine, life and other fields), and the number of outstanding scholarships ranks the 8th. At present HIT has formed a complete basic research talent chain composed of youth fund, outstanding youth fund, national outstanding youth fund and national innovation research group .
