Recently, the second list of key laboratories was released by Ministry of Culture, and HIT Interactive Media Design and Equipment Service Innovation Laboratory was included in the list.

The laboratory will rely on the powerful scientific advantage and rich academic resource of HIT, aiming at the frontiers of culture, economy and interactive media designing, based on digital technology, guided by artistic innovation thoughts, and take interactive media design and equipment service innovation as the key fields to carry out cultural and scientific integration research and culture value addition, and in order to construct the laboratory into the most advanced fundamental, cross-discipline, and open cultural and scientific base in Northeast Asia. The core partners of the technological team in the laboratory mainly come from Media Technology and Arts Department, Liu Hong, Specially Appointed Professors of Cheung Kong Scholars, President Assistant, Dean of College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering serves as the Director of Key Laboratory Academic Committee.

It is said that in order to complete the construction of cultural and scientific innovation system, promote the deep integration between culture and science, build a cultural and scientific base that focuses on high-level scientific research and gathers and cultivates outstanding talents for academic communication, the Ministry of Culture has released two lists of key laboratories. HIT Interactive Media Design and Equipment Service Innovation Laboratory is the first one that has been approved.
