In March 23rd, the closing ceremony of National Model United Nations (NMUN) guided by the United Nations Department of Public Information was held in United Nations Headquarters. The delegation of our school has succeed in becoming the Distinguished Delegation for the first time.
NMUN was held in New York from March 19th to 23rd, which attracted about 230 delegations from the University of Washington in America, Technical University of Munich in Germany, Renmin University of China and other universities worldwide. The award-winning teams and individuals are evaluated and selected by the special jury of National Model United Nations according to the comprehensive performances and the contribution achievements of individuals and teams.
According to the designation of the Organizing Committee of NMUN, the delegation of our school represented the Commonwealth of Dominica. With the grueling agenda for 5 consecutive days, all the members of our delegation kept the motto of Stringent Standard, Professional Proficiency in mind. They clarified the position of their representative states on the related issues and put forward constructive solutions to promote the conference process by the active speeches in the divisions. Meanwhile, they exchanged views and debated with the representatives from other states inside and outside the conference as well as co-authored papers to seek win-win cooperation. Therefore, out delegation was unanimously praised and highly recognized by the Organizing Committee and the delegates from other states. Finally, our delegation became the member of the presidium for the first time through the election of NMUN.
