HIT Team won the Special Award of Chinese High Performance Composites Innovation Contest for College Students

In the finals recently-ended 2017 GW Cup Chinese high-performance composite innovation for college students, HIT team led by professor Zhang Dongxing and composed of PhD candidate Qiu Si and Wang Jian from our School of Materials Science and Engineering won the special award in the contest as the number one in total score.

The contest was sponsored by China Education Association of Chemical Industry and Weihai Torch Hi-tech Science Park, co-hosted by Committee of Universities and Colleges of China Education Association of Chemical Industry, Weihai GW Compos and Beijing University of Chemical Technology. The aim of the contest is to promote students 'understanding of high performance composites, especially carbon fiber composites, to stimulate the awareness of innovation and enhance the research and practical ability of those students, and to further promote the development of high performance composites, especially carbon fiber composites. The contest attracted 126 teams from 42 colleges and universities and 25 teams qualified for the finals. HIT team won one of the special award and two of third prize.
