From September 5th to 6th, the 6th APEC Conference on Cooperation in Higher Education of Eastern Economic Forum was held in Far Eastern Federal University in Vladivostok of Russia. President of HIT Zhou Yu attended the conference and delivered a speech entitled by “The History, Present Situation and Future Prospect of Sino-Russian Cooperation in Higher Education-Taking HIT as An Example”.
In his speech, taking HIT as an example, Zhou Yu reviewed the history and summarized the present situation of Sino-Russian Cooperation in Higher Education, then pointed out the exsiting problems and challenges, and gave reasonable suggestions for the cooperation issue.
During the conference, Zhou Yu met with the president of Far Eastern Federal University-Anisimov, the president of North-Eastern Federal University-Mikhailova successively, and they exchanged ideas and reached consensus on issues that how to enhance relationship between universities in personnel traning and scientific cooperation as well as promote the cooperation level to realize double win.
Representatives from international organizations, government officials, presidents of universities, experts on higher education and scholars of relative institutions from 13 countries and regions in the Asia-Pacific region got together to discussed the latest trend of education globalization and explored the key role universities played in the decision-making process on global issues.
The 6th APEC Conference on Cooperation in Higher Education is the development of Eastern Economic Forum held in Vladivostok of Russia from 2012 to 2015, aiming to promote the integration of education systems in Asia-Pacific region and the enhancement of the construction of education cooperation and exchange mechanism to realize the interconnection and interworking of information resources.
Representatives of department of international cooperation of HIT attended the above activities.
