On October 30th, 2017 the inaugural meeting of the Heilongjiang Artificial Intelligence Industrial Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance and the Heilongjiang Artificial Intelligence Development Summit was held in the activity center of Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT). The meeting elected the first council for the Alliance and the expert consultation committee.
In order to fully implement the “Intelligent Manufacturing Development Plan (2016-2020)”, the “New Generation Artificial Intelligence Development Plan (2017-2020)” and other national strategies concerning innovation-driven development, the Alliance will promote the development of the artificial intelligence industry in Heilongjiang. It will deepen cooperation between artificial intelligence research institutes and universities and the leading industries in Heilongjiang. This will accelerate university-industry-research cooperation and improve the industrialization of high-tech achievements, increasing the potential for market players and strengthening Heilongjiang’s overall economic and social development. The first council of the Alliance consists of 35 universities and colleges, research institutes and enterprises, including HIT, Peking University, Institute of Computing Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Big Data Group of HIT. Wang Yadong, dean of the School of Computing at HIT, was elected as the chairman of the Alliance. Vice-professor Zhang Yingtao was appointed as the Secretary General of the Alliance.
At the meeting, Professor Lu Qingming, vice-president of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) and Wu Feng, executive dean from the College of Information Sciences and Technology of University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) gave reports They were titled “Brain-spatial Information Science-Bridge connecting Brain Science and Brain-like Artificial Intelligence” and “Brain-like Artificial Intelligence” respectively.
Li Deyi, academician from the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and chairman of the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI) and distinguished persons from the Department of Science and Technology of Heilongjiang Province, the Computing Center of Heilongjiang Province were in attendance along with representatives from various universities and colleges in Heilongjiang Province.
