HIT Carries Participates in National Poverty Alleviation Day — “Health Poverty Alleviation.” Large-Scale, Free Treatment Activities in Tongle Village, Longquan Town, Baiquan County

As part of the fourth National Poverty Alleviation Day, held on October 15th, 2017 HIT sent school leaders to visit Tongle Village, Tongquan County. The project, called “Health Poverty Alleviation” Large-scale Gratuitous Treatment Activities in Tongle Village, Longquan Town, Baiquan County was a great success.  Mr. Zhang Hongtao, deputy secretary of the party committee of HIT, vice president and the trade union chairman participated in the activities.

Zhang Hongtao and his party visited the Tongle Village Committee in Longquan Town. They exchanged views with cadres of the county, town and village learning more about the situation of poverty alleviation in Tongle Village.  In-depth discussions were carried out regarding the next step for poverty alleviation. He also visited village cadres from our school, along with villagers and doctors who attended activities.  Zhang Hongtao said that HIT would diligently implement the central and provincial governments’ requirements, and actively carry out fixed-point village poverty alleviation work. An organized fixed-point village poverty alleviation group will offer free medical treatment, education and poverty alleviation activities, science and technology training and tangible activities to alleviate poverty in the near future for the betterment of society.

HIT’s school hospital carefully arranged for a variety of free treatment activities. An elite team of 14 members led by Sun Xuemei, the school hospital president and Gao Xianzhong, the Secretary of the Party General Branch brought color Doppler ultrasound equipment, providing free treatment for cardiology, neurology, respiratory, gastroenterology, endocrinology, orthopedic surgery, general surgery, urology, and gynecology patients. Chinese medicine for dermatology and other diseases was also offered to villagers. During the consultation process, the experts patiently advised villagers who came to the doctor.  They discussed prevention of common, frequently-occurring diseases and the importance of a healthy diet and daily health care matters. They presented strategies to help people develop good, healthy habits, and enhance the awareness of disease prevention. The school hospital also cooperated with the village doctors to carry out training and health education and popularize health knowledge and skills. Tongle villagers actively participated in these free treatment activities, and expressed their gratitude to HIT.

The head of the school trade union also attended the activity.
