On October 11th, XU Dianguo, the vice president of our school met with John Vanpton, a professor and the vice president of the University of Birmingham in the Executive Building.
XU gave an introductory overview of our school to the delegation. He maintained that since the two schools belonged to the C9 League and the Russell group respectively cooperation can be carried out in many advantageous disciplines. He shared the hope that the two schools will continue to strengthen communications among teachers and students welcoming more scholars and students to exchange programs at HIT. According to Professor John Vanpton, Bermingham is an older industrialized city so the science and engineering of University of Birmingham have their own characteristics. On this point, HIT is a key partner. He also hopes the two can enhance interaction, carrying out more substantive exchanges.
