Eleven HIT Teachers and Students Win the 2017 Baosteel Education Award

The 2017 Baosteel Education Award ceremony was held in Shanghai on November 11th, 2017.  Five teachers and six students from HIT were selected to receive the award.  Zhang Hongtao, the deputy secretary for the HIT Party Committee and the vice principal of HIT, as well as representatives for the prize-winners attended the award ceremony.

Evaluated by experts, five HIT teachers: Yu Kaiping, Fang Ru, Gong Rumin, Shao Yu and Liu Hongwei were awarded the Baosteel Outstanding Teacher prize.  Li Ningxi, an undergraduate from HIT’s Mechatronics Engineering School was awarded the Baosteel Outstanding Student grand prize.  Five students: Liu Mengshuai, Hu Yanying, Jiang Wei, Dong De and Cao Mengyu were awarded Baosteel Outstanding Student prize. Over 500 students from 75 colleges and universities were considered.  Only 25 students were awarded the Baosteel Outstanding Student grand prize.

The Baosteel Education Award is one of the most well-known educational awards.  It was established by Baosteel Group Corporation Limited and is supported by the government. The  Baosteel Education Award consists of the following awards:  the Baosteel Outstanding Teacher prize, the Baosteel Outstanding Teacher grand prize, the Baosteel Outstanding Teacher Finalist prize, the Baosteel Outstanding Student prize and the Baosteel Outstanding Student grand prize. Baosteel Education Awards are presented annually to honor those excellent teachers and students with outstanding performance and contributions in national colleges and universities.
