Recently a large-scale job fair for five major northeastern universities and a special recruitment fair for architecture major graduating in 2018 was held in the gymnasium on HIT’s first campus and the cultural sports center on the second campus. Zhang Hongtao, deputy party secretary and vice president of HIT and Peng Yuankui, assistant to the president of HIT attended the fair. They gained a profound understanding of the needs of employers and actively recommended excellent graduates.
This year’s job fair attracted more than 750 employers to recruit talents. Nearly 6,000 graduates with different majors from universities in Heilongjiang province, such as HIT and HEU, came to search for employment.
For the first time the job fair offered a “Belt and Road” recruitment section for international students. More than 10 employers including CASIC, CSCEC and ZTE made contacts with nearly 200 international students from countries along the “Belt and Road” such as Russia, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and Thailand face to face and answered questions and concerns such as employment and internship opportunities, salary and benefits.
Leaders from HIT’s College of International Education shared that in recent years, with China’s rising international status, more and more international students chose to live and work in China. An ever-increasing number of nations are responding to the “Belt and Road” initiative presented by General Secretary Xi Jinping. The campus recruitment office provided opportunities for communication between international students and Chinese enterprises.
