President ZHOU Yu Attends “Presidents’ Forum” in Hong Kong

From December 6 to 8, president ZHOU Yu and other 3 members attended the “Presidents’ Forum” entitled “the impact of universities on the future” in Hong Kong and delivered a speech in the meeting.

In the speech, president ZHOU Yu recalled the active role HIT played in the development of China, Heilongjiang Province and Harbin during almost one hundred years since its founding, and presented three modes of interaction with the nation and region by universities. Besides, the meeting conducted several specified discussion on the future trend of universities as well as the interaction of universities with the society.    

During the meeting, ZHOU Yu and the members attended the 80th anniversary celebration of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

During the visit, the delegation met with the alumni of HIT in Hong Kong. ZHOU Yu introduced the latest situation of HIT and hoped that the alumni could keep on paying attention to the development of HIT and try their best to expand its influence in Hong Kong.

The assistant to the president ZHEN Liang, and people concerned from Shenzhen campus and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office of HIT attended this activity.

It was known that the forum this time was held by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and 42 university presidents from 21 countries conducted discussion on the influence of universities on the future of international world, the country and the society by centralizing the core functions of universities.
