The inauguration ceremony for the National Robot Competition Equipment Testing and Certification Center and the National Robot Teaching Equipment Testing and Certification Center was held at the HIT Activity Center December 20th, 2017. The centers’ purpose is to promote the safe certification of artificial intelligence and establish national standards for Chinese robot competition and teaching equipment. Several leaders participated in the inauguration of the two centers. Among them were DU Yuxin, Chairman of Heilongjiang CPPCC and Honorary Chairmen of Heilongjiang Robot Sports Association, ZHANG Xuejun, Deputy Director of China Robot Sports Committee and Vice Chairmen of National School Sports Alliance Robot Committee, WANG Shuquan, Party Secretary from our school, and DING Xuemei, Vice President of our school.

DING Xuemei presided over the ceremony, and ZHAO Hang, Party Secretary from the School of Mechatronics Engineering, introduced the functions of the two state-level robot testing and certification centers.

For the standardization of robot movement and robotic teaching in China, it is necessary to carry out testing and certification in the design, manufacture, promotion, utilization, safety evaluation and market access of sports and teaching equipment. To this end, the China Robot Sports Committee and the National School Sports Alliance Robot Committee is promoting the construction of a national equipment testing platform. Based on robotic research and related advanced disciplines education at HIT, the two state-level robot testing and certification centers will fully integrate Heilongjiang robot competition and teaching resources with the strong support of relevant government departments.

The establishment of the two state-level robot testing and certification centers means that Chinese robotic sports and teaching equipment will be tested and certified by national standards beginning in 2017. The materials, sample design, programming platform and algorithm, production standards, and manuals involved in this field must pass the testing certification before the production process begins. "Certification" will be the standard process for Chinese robotic sports and teaching equipment.

The two centers will delegate the testing and certification work to robot manufacturers, design and R & D units and social organizations in such fields as plastic plug-in innovation kits, land balance car series, sports drone series, metal plug-in innovation kits, industrial robot teaching arms, and the primary 3D printer series.

Various leaders from the Provincial Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Department of Education, the Science and Technology Department, the Sports Bureau, the Quality Supervision Bureau, the China Robot Sports Committee and the National School Sports Alliance Robot Committee attended the inauguration ceremony. Also in attendance were experts and scholars in artificial intelligence and representatives of HIT’s teachers and students from related majors.
