HIT Adds New “Discipline Innovation Intelligence Base of Universities ”

Recently, the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs and the Ministry of Education announced the results of the assessment for 2018 newly-founded “Discipline Innovation Intelligence Bases of Universities.” The report presented by HIT’s Specialized Subject Development Department entitled “space environment and material action discipline innovation intelligence base” was rated “Excellent”. HIT will be able to begin the initial stages of the project without any further “defense on the spot” as a result of the number one ranking.

As part of the assessment, HIT, along with other 12 universities such as Peking University, Zhejiang University and Fudan University, received project approval as a result of their “Excellent” rating.  Sixty-eight other universities will be allowed to conduct a “defense on the spot”.

Project 111, short for “the project of discipline innovation intelligence base of universities’ will promote the building of world class universities in China. Implemented by both the Ministry of Education and the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, the project will focus on international frontier disciplines and centralizing national goals. It will consider universities with international frontier levels or disciplines for national major development. The project establishes high-level research teams and will build approximately 100 world-level discipline innovation intelligence bases with the national major disciplines. These will serve as the foundation for research bases at national, as well as provincial and ministerial levels.
