During the visit, Ren Nanqi also represented the Chinese President of the Sino-Russian Engineering University Alliance and the Harbin Institute of Technology in Chelyabinsk to attend the 75th anniversary of the South Ural State University of Russia.
On December 12th, the delegation and the Vice President of Foreign Affairs of Bauman State Technical University in Moscow, Mikhail Kuznetsov, and the Vice Chancellor of Teaching Method Research, Sergei Korshnov met to talk about establishing the Bauman College of Harbin Institute of Technology. The meeting was officially held, and the two sides signed the Intention Agreement on the Establishment of the Chinese-Russian Joint College of HIT and Bauman. During the visit, the experts from both sides conducted a comprehensive synergy[LM1] of the joint training programs in the three disciplines of electromechanical, materials, and environmental science, including enrollment, student registration, Sino-Russian intensive study, and exchange of teachers. The two sides plan to hold the opening ceremony of the Chinese-Russian Joint College of HIT and Bauman in mid-January 2019, and the enrollment will begin in 2019. During the visit, the delegation also visited the Museum of the Physical Building and Materials Department of the Bauman State Technical University in Moscow.
On December 13, Ren Nanqi attended the 75th Anniversary Celebration of the South Ural State University. While there, the delegation held talks with Alexander Sherstakov, President of the university. The two sides exchanged in-depth views on further strengthening cooperation under the framework of the China-Russia Engineering University Alliance and the University of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (USCO), and jointly signed the Exchange Agreement of Students Majoring in Energy, Mechanical Engineering, and Information Technology. The delegation also participated in the promotion meeting of the Russian Research and Learning Center of “Pushkin Academy”, and the launching ceremony of the new book, South Ural State University – 75 Years: Golden Chapter.
On December 14th, the delegation visited St. Petersburg State University and held talks with the First Vice President of Teaching, Marina Lavlikova, and Vice President of International Affairs, Sergei Andreu Shen. The two sides spoke highly of the truth that in the recent two years, the colleges have achieved fruitful results in the field of personnel training and scientific research cooperation. Ren Nanqi informed the Russian side of the latest progress in the preparation of the Sino-Russian joint campus in Heilongjiang. He hoped that the two sides will continue to accelerate the construction of the project with the support of the Heilongjiang Provincial People's Government and set up the joint training project intended for undergraduate students in four major disciplines: mathematics, physics, chemistry, and Russian. Also, the two sides will unveil the establishment of Harbin Institute of Arts and Sciences in St. Petersburg. Experts from both sides actively discussed and reached a preliminary consensus on the professional direction, mode, teaching form, enrollment year, enrollment number, degree, language of instruction, and curriculum system of the project.
