HIT News (School of Physics / text and photo)Held from Oct 16 to 18, the 11th CUPT (China Undergraduate Physics Tournament)remains a magic arena for HIT as HIT team became the champion with 47.888 points inthe final and they had gained a total score of 207.375 in five rounds of qualifying matches. As of now, our team becomes eight-time consecutive finalist and wins seven-time Grand Prize in a row and five titles.
A total of 63 teams from 62 universities, including Peking University, Fudan University, Nanjing University, Zhejiang University, Nankai University and HIT and many other universities, took part in the tournament. In the three-day six-match competition, our representative team has won unanimous praise from teachers, students and judges of all colleges and universities for its novel theoretical viewpoints and outstanding performance.
CUPT is one of the important innovation competitions for college students to practice the national innovation-driven development strategy outline and the national medium and long-term development plan outline of education. The competition takes collaborative innovation as its fundamental concept and team confrontation as its main form, aiming at improving students' ability to analyze and solve practical physical problems by comprehensively applying the knowledge they have learned and cultivating students' ability to open-mindedness.
