In late autumn, oursceniccampus welcomed alumni from all over the country. On the morning of October 24, theinauguralCivil Engineering Research Building and the History Museum of School of Civil Engineering as well as the unveiling ceremony of the "Siyuan" stone were held. XiongSihao, Secretary of the Party Committee of HIT, attended the ceremony, unveiled the building with the alumni, and presented alumni Lv Hongjun with the certificate of senior honorary trustee.Lv collaborates with 41 other alumni, classes and enterprise like XinghewanCorporation to sponsor the Civil Engineering Research Building. Finally, the total number of donators is over 2000. The construction of this building began on May 11, 2018, and was officially completed on the centennial of HIT.

The alumni back-to-school meetingheld on the morning of the 24th is also the celebration meeting that carries on the theme of “A Centennial Commemoration of School of Civil Engineering”. President Zhou Yu attended the meeting and addressed a speech. He fully affirmed the 100-year development process and achievements of the School of Civil Engineering. He also expressed his thanks to concern and support fromalumni. In the end, he put forward his hopes and requirements for the next 100 years.

On Oct 25, the launch of the “Jiaotong”square construction project and the unveiling ceremony of the "Huida" stone were held. Tian Lin, deputy director-general of the Provincial Transportation Department, and the Party Secretary and Chairman of Heilongjiang TradingCorporation—Shang Yunlongwere present at the live event. Theschool leaders, together with alumni and representatives of teachers and students, unveiled the "Huida" stone and prodded soil for the alumni tree "Taxus".

During the homecoming, wonderful academic seminars took turns—the Faculty of Computing held discipline construction forums, young scholars and alumni academic reporting and young scholars' report meeting respectively. Alumni listened to the discipline development report of the Faculty of Computing and offered suggestions for the future development. Young alumni from Peking University, East China Normal University, University of Electronic Science and Technology and other universities shared their own scientific research experience and insights, and exchanged views with graduate students.

The Forum on Discipline and Industry Development under the Background of Strengthening the Country with Transportation sponsored by the School of Transportation Science and Engineering was conducted in school. Alumni were invited to share their achievements and experiences on such topics as "Direction and Problems of Transportation Development and Reform", "Technical Requirements of Dalian Bay Submarine Tunnel" and " Intelligent Transportation Construction in Heilongjiang Province under the Background of Strengthening the Country with Transportation".

As one of the homecoming activities for alumni of the Sports Department, the leaders attending the meeting and alumni representatives jointly unveiled the Alumni Association of Outstanding Athletes of Harbin Institute of Technology.
