On the morning of November 24,
the 2020 National Commendation Conference
for Model Workers and Advanced Workers was held
at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
On behalf of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council,
President Xi Jinping attended the conference
and delivered an important speech,
expressing his warm congratulations
to the honored national model workers and advanced workers,
and extending his sincere greetings to the working class and the masses
who have made outstanding contributions
to the reform and opening up and socialist modernization.
Ma Jun, member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering
and professor of the School of Environment of HIT,
was awarded the title of “National Advanced Worker” and received the award
in Beijing together with representatives from Heilongjiang Province.

The National Commendation Conference for Model Workers and Advanced Workers
is held every five years.
The honor is awarded by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council
in recognition of advanced and model workers in all walks of life
who are dedicated to their jobs, brave in innovation,
noble in character and outstanding in performance.
It is one of the highest awards
for the Chinese working class and the working masses.
