75 Courses in HIT Have Been Recognized as the First-class National Undergraduate Courses, Ranking the Fourth in China

On November 30, the Ministry of Education issued the Notice on Publishing the Results of the First Batch of National First-class Undergraduate Courses. 75 courses of HIT were selected into the national first-class undergraduate courses, including 48 online first-class courses, 17 offline first-class courses, 2 mixed online and offline first-class courses, and 8 first-class virtual simulation experimental teaching courses, ranking the fourth in China.

According to the Implementation Opinions of the Ministry of Education on the Construction of First-class Undergraduate Courses and the requirements of relevant circulars, a total of 5,118 courses, which were being declared and recommended by provincial education administrative departments, education departments (bureaus) of relevant departments (units), and higher education schools under the Ministry, have been recognized by the Ministry of Education as the first batch of national first-class undergraduate courses after expert evaluation and public announcement. (These include 1,559 former 2017 and 2018 national high-quality online open courses and national virtual simulation experimental teaching projects that made significant contributions in promoting the deep integration of information technology and education teaching, especially in the large-scale online teaching implemented during the COVID-19 epidemic.) Among them, there are 1,875 online first-class courses, 1,463 offline first-class courses, 868 mixed online and offline first-class courses, 728 first-class virtual simulation experimental teaching courses, and 184 first-class social practice courses.

It has built ten modules of cultural quality-oriented education, including science, engineering, humanities and society. It has built 236 courses and introduced 367 excellent online open courses. Remarkable achievements have been made in the construction of online courses, 235 of which have been built; HIT also strengthens the application of information technology, vigorously promotes the teaching mode of "MOOC+SPOCs+ Flipped Class" to guide students' independent learning, cooperative learning and inquiry learning.

In addition, the university has also introduced a series of systems such as the HIT Online Open Course Construction Application and Management Measures, HIT MOOC/SPOC Construction Specifications, HIT Hybrid Teaching Implementation Management Rules, HIT Excellence Online Open Course Recognition Measures, HIT Undergraduate Course Construction Management Measures (Temporary), etc. HIT has formulated these systems to strengthen the management and construction of various undergraduate courses.
