On May 1st, the 8th Experiment Teaching Case Design Competition for Fundamental Courses of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Dingyang Cup) in the northern division was held in HIT. HIT has won 4 first prizes, 1 second prize and 2 third prizes. In addition, HIT won the Award of Outstanding Organization.
Liu Hongchen, Zhang Gang and You Jiaxin, teachers from the School of Electrical Engineering; and Li Hongzhi, a teacher from the School of Telecommunications, won the first prize respectively. Yuan Guibin, a teacher from the School of Electrical Engineering, won the second prize in the competition. Hou Boya, a teacher from the School of Electrical Engineering, and Liu Beijia, a teacher from the School of Telecommunications, won the third prize respectively.
This competition is sponsored by the Chinese Institute of Electronics and the Electronics Discipline Group of the National Demonstration Center for Experimental Education, and jointly organized by the Joint Committee of Electrical and Electronic Experimental Teaching Centers of Universities in the Northern Region and the National Demonstration Center for Experimental Education for Electrical and Electronic Engineering in HIT. A total of 115 entries were received from 26 universities in the northern region. Professor Wang Shujuan, Dean of the National Demonstration Center for Experimental Education for Electrical and Electronic Engineering, served as the rotating chairman of the Northern Region Competition Organizing Committee.
This competition originates from the National College Experiment Teaching Case Design Competition for Basic Electrical and Electronic Courses jointly sponsored by the Fundamental Courses of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Teaching Steering Committee under the Ministry of Education and National Demonstration Center for Experimental Education for Electrical and Electronic Engineering in 2014. It is currently the only national competition with the theme of experimental teaching for Electrical and Electronic fundamental courses. From 2020 onwards, the competition will be held in the form of preliminary competition in the competition area and national semi-competition. The country is divided into five sub-divisions: Northern China, the north of China, the west of China, Central Southern China and Eastern China. Hei Longjiang, Jilin, Liaoning and Inner Mongolia belong to the north of China sub-divisions.
It is reported that from April 30th to May 2nd, HIT also hosted the Annual Joint Conference of the National Demonstration Center for Experimental Education for Electrical and Electronic Engineering among universities in the northern region in 2021. Professor Shu Guohua of Shanghai Jiaotong University, deputy head of Electronics Discipline Group of the National Demonstration Center for Experimental Education, and Shuai Yong, assistant to the president of HIT, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. More than 120 people including the directors of research labs and teachers from over 30 universities and colleges as well as some representatives from industries attended the meeting. More than 10 experts and peer teachers from colleges and universities across the country made conference reports, sharing ideas around the construction of electrical and electronic experimental courses, the analysis of excellent experimental teaching cases, how to design experimental teaching cases, the training of experimental teachers, and the ideological and political education in electrical and electronic experimental courses under the background of “new engineering”.
During the meeting, the participants visited the National Demonstration Center for Experimental Education for Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Engineering Innovation Practice Center of HIT, learned about the progress in curriculum construction, the informatization construction of experimental teaching and the training of practical and innovative personnel of the experimental center in recent years, and spoke highly of the achievements in laboratory construction and personnel training of HIT.
