The 11th Construction Festival of HIT ——2021 Plastic Hollow Board Architectural Design and Construction Competition

Architecture, a perfect combination of “art and science”, not only has the space attribute of reunion or rest, but also can carry its unique humanistic connotation.

On June 13, the 11th 11th Construction Festival of HIT and the 2021 Plastic Hollow Board Architectural Design and Construction Competition were held in front of the library of the first campus. 25 groups of college students from freshmen and sophomores of School of Architecture of HIT, and 11 high school teams including from Harbin No. 3 Middle School and Daqing Experimental Middle School participated in the competition in the field. And 14 high school teams including Chengdu Shude Middle School in Sichuan Province and Hefei No. 168 Middle School in Anhui Province participated in the competition remotely.

The theme of the construction festival is “Wonderful 100 Years” . How to create a community on a college or high school campus that not only promotes on-site communication and cultural identity, but also reflects the perfect combination of “art and science”? The students opened their minds around this theme and turned their fantastic ideas into pieces of architectural works.

After fierce competition, two works of “Scroll with Time” and “Beauty of Strength and Flower” won the first prize in the university group; two works of  “Rhythm” and “Odd Flowers” won the first prize in the high school group of on-site construction; The work “Flowing Light” submitted by Mianyang Foreign Language School in Sichuan Province won the grand prize in the high school group of off-site construction

The 11th Construction Festival of HIT brought us an immersive visual feast of light and shadow in the space. In the early summer breeze, we can feel the beauty of architectural form and the abundance of connotation and understand what is the beauty of construction.
