On July 15th, 2021, Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) held a conference among teachers cadres, at which Li Xiaoxin, Vice minister of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, announced the decision of the CPC Central Committee on the appointment of Han Jiecai as the President of HIT. Wang Jiangping, Vice Minister of Industry and Information Technology and Member of the CPC Leading Group, and Shen Ying, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Heilongjiang Provincial Committee and Minister of Organization Department were present at the conference. Xiong Sihao, General Secretary of the Party Committee of HIT, presided over the conference.
Han Jiecai
Han Jiecai, President of Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences. Han serves as Regional Editor of Composites Science and Technology, Editorial Board Member of Composites Part B, and Deputy Editor of Science China Technological Sciences and Acta Aeronautica et Astronautica Sinica. As an expert in composite materials and optical materials, Han has long been dedicated to the research and teaching of composite materials and mechanics in extreme environments. He has been awarded the “Ten Major Scientific and Technological Progresses of China’s Colleges and Universities” in 2020. He has also won the Second Prize of National Natural Science Award once, the Second Prize of State Technological Invention Award twice, and the Second Prize of National Award for Science and Technology Progress once. He holds more than 70 national patents and has published four academic monographs and over 400 articles in international journals.
