All Media of Harbin Institute of Technology From July 24th to 25th, the Northeast Regional Competition of the 9th National University Student Optoelectronic Design Competition and the 5thOptoelectronic Design Competition for University Students in Northeast China hosted by HIT were held. Seven teams of HIT have won the first prize of the Creative Competition in the Northeast Regional Competition, four of which have won the excellent results of 1 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze; Ten teams have won the first prize of the Apple Group in the Physical Competition of the Northeast Regional Competition, six of which have advanced to the national finals; Ten teams have won the first prize of the Small Car Group in the Physical Competition of the Northeast Regional Competition, four of which have advanced to the national finals. Twenty-one instructors of HIT have won the title of "Excellent Instructors in the Competition", and HIT has won the Excellent Organization Award.
Academician Tan Jiubin from the Instrument College of HIT, Director of the Organizing Committee of the Northeast Division of the 9thNational University Student Optoelectronic Design Competition, and Professor Fu Yuegang, Deputy Director of the Committee of the National University Student Optoelectronic Design Competition and Vice President of Changchun University of Science and Technology, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.
Since its launch in May, this competition has attracted 4185 teachers and students from 36 universities and 753 teams in the Northeast Division. After the preliminary online review and expert on-site review, 95 teams (25 teams for the Creative Competition and 70 teams for the Physical Competition) were selected to participate in the final roadshows. After fierce competition, 121 teams won the first prize and 194 teams won the second prize. A total of 52 teams from 19 universities were recommended for the national competition, 26 of which advanced to the national finals (roadshows). In addition, 126 instructors won the title of Excellent Instructors in the Competition, and 18 universities won the Excellent Organization Award.
It is understood that the National University Student Optoelectronic Design Competition is an important discipline competition for optoelectronic majors in national universities, which provides a national authoritative exchange platform for students of optoelectronic and related majors to comprehensively apply their knowledge to scientific research activities. The competition is held alternately in the form of creative competitions and proposition competitions, paying attention to the openness and professionalism of optoelectronic professional competitions. Nine sessions have passed since the first competition was successfully held in 2008, and its influence has been continuously improving. The competition has been included in the ranking list of the national univesity students’ discipline competition for two consecutive years in 2019 and 2020.
