President Han Jiecai Attended the Annual Meeting for Presidents of the Association of Pacific Rim Universities

Recently, President Han Jiecai was invited to attend the 25th annual meeting for presidents of the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU) online.

Han Jiecai introduced the basic situation, history and development process of Harbin Institute of technology, and expressed his willingness to work together with the alliance universities to shape the new normal of higher education.

With the theme of "Universities Shaping the New Normal Together", this meeting was chaired by Prof. Gene Block, President of UCLA and chairman of APRU. Representatives from member universities shared their ideas on the development of education and scientific research in the post epidemic era, and discussed how to carry out more effective cooperation and exchange and reshape the social responsibility of universities in this special period.

Founded in 1997, the APRU is a joint academic organization of the top research universities in the Pacific Rim region, jointly sponsored by the presidents of the California Institute of technology, UC Berkeley, UCLA and the University of Southern California. It aims to establish a platform for communication and mutual development for member universities. At present, there are 60 member universities.
