(HIT News) The 2021 International Industry-University-Research Cooperation Conference (Changchun) and the 21st Consortium Meeting of the Education Cooperation Sub-Committee of the Sino-Russian Cultural Cooperation Committee opened in Changchun, capital of Northeast China’s Jilin Province, on the afternoon of September 7th. Han Jiecai, president of Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), attended the events and related exchange activities at invitation.
Tian Xuejun, vice-minister of the Ministry of Education, An Lijia, vice-governor of Jilin Provincial People’s Government, and Dmitry Afanasyev, vice-minister of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Sergey Pirozhkov, vice-president of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine addressed via video. During the conference, Chinese and foreign universities reached 10 agreements on scientific research, construction of high-level scientific and technological research and development platforms, and transformation and industrialization of high-tech achievements.
During the event, the 21st Consortium Meeting of the Education Cooperation Sub-Committee of the Sino-Russia Cultural Exchange Committee was held online, with Tian Xuejun and Afanasyev co-chairing the conference. The two sides reviewed the achievements in Sino-Russian educational cooperation over the past year, fully exchanged views over the signing of the new education agreements as well as issues such as higher education, studying abroad, language teaching, basic education, supplementary education, institutionalized projects and multilateral cooperation, and reached broad consensus. President Han Jiecai made a report on the construction of the Sino-Russian joint campus of HIT at the conference.
