All media of Harbin Institute of Technology (by Li Guojie) from October 15 to 16, 2021 ANNUAL PRESIDENTS MEETING ON BUILDING WORLD-CLASS UNIVERISTIES ANNUAL PRESIDENT FORUM hosted by Fudan University was held in Qingpu, Shanghai.[ec1] President Han Jiecai attended the meeting and made a report.[ec2]
Han Jiecai made a report on the conference with the topic of “Stepping forward from China’s No.1 Aerospace Institution to the World’s No.1 Aerospace Institution on the road of education with characteristic of the confidence of HIT.”[ec3] President Han pointed out that China is moving from a major player in space to a space power.[ec4] HIT will adhere to the guidance by the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping in his congratulations letter and persistently take the road of education with HIT characteristics. It will take the initiative to act as an important strategic force for China’s space power construction as well as realize the transformation from China’s No.1 Aerospace Institution to the World’s No.1 Aerospace Institution. [ec5] He said that the school will stay true to the aspiration of fostering virtue through education, cultivate patriotism, and strive to nurture more outstanding talents leading our space power construction; unremittingly strengthen original and leading scientific research and build more national core industries in the aerospace field; unremittingly strengthen the organization capacity and resource integration to form a large corps with national laboratories, national scientific research institutions and the leading scientific and technological enterprises so as to seek greater support and development with greater contributions. MEETING ON BUILDING WORLD-CLASS UNIVERISTIES have been held every year since 2003[ec7] . At present, 18 sessions have been held. [ec8] Relevant personnel from the school office and discipline construction office attended the meeting.

[ec3]President Han gave a report at the meeting on the topic of “The Confidence of HIT in Running Schools with Special Characteristics: From ‘China’s No.1 Aerospace University’ to 'World’s No.1 Aerospace University’”.
[ec4]He noted that China has grown from a major player in space into a space powerhouse;
[ec5]In the meantime, HIT is determined to take the congratulatory letter from General Secretary Xi Jinping as guidance, and persistently take the road of education with HIT characteristics; HIT will never waver in her efforts to take the initiative to become an important strategic science and technology force to serve the construction of China’s space power, and strive to transform from China’s No.1 Aerospace University to the World’s No.1 Aerospace University. [ec5]
[ec6]He also said that the university will always stay true to the aspiration of fostering virtue through education, cultivating patriotism, and focusing on cultivating more outstanding talents to lead the construction of a strong aerospace nation; HIT is bent on unremittingly seeking originality, leading scientific research to build more national weapons in the field of aerospace, strengthening organizational strength and resource integration so that HIT can form a league with national laboratories and national research institutions to lead science and technology enterprises to seek greater support and development.
