Professor Gao Huijun to be the Chief Editor-Designate of IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics

HIT All Media  A few days ago, approved by the Management Committee of IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics, Professor Gao Hui Jun from the School of Astronautics of HIT will be the chief editor-designate of the journal from January 1, 2022 and will be the chief editor from January 1, 2023, being the first Chinese mainland scholar who takes on the position since the inception of the journal.

IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics is an authoritative journal in the field of mechatronics and control jointly sponsored by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers(IEEE) and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers(ASME). The journal covers all practical aspects of mechatronics theory and methods among which the specific technical fields include modeling and design, manufacturing, motion control, system integration, vibration and noise control, actuators and sensors, micro devices and photoelectric systems, intelligent control, automotive systems, robots and other applications. Currently, the journal has an impact factor of 5.303. 

Gao Huijun is a professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Astronautics of HIT, an honorary professor of the University of Hong Kong, a winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, an academician of Academia Europaea, and an IEEE Fellow. Also, he serves as Vice Precident of IEEE Industrial Electronics Society and a Distinguished Speaker of IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society. He has been engaged in research on intelligent control theory and application for a long time. In 2014 and 2008, he won the second prize of the National Natural Science Award twice as the first and principal researcher, respectively. Among others, he has also won the Tan Kah Kee Science Award, China Youth Science and Technology Award, China Youth May Fourth Medal, the title of National Model Worker.
