The Second Sino-Russia Forum on Science and Technology Held at HIT

HIT All Media: On December 23, the Second Sino-Russia Forum on Science and Technology was held at HIT. The forum was co-sponsored by Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology, Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the government of Heilongjiang Province and the Russian Academy of Sciences, and jointly hosted by HIT, the Institute of Chemical Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences and St. Petersburg University. Han Jiecai, President of HIT, Liu Aili, Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Department of Heilongjiang Province and Academician Aldoshin of the Russian Academy of Sciences attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.

The opening ceremony was hosted by Shuai Yong, Assistant to the President of HIT. Jiang Peixue and Leng Jinsong, Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Li Liyi, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences and Director of the Institute of Space Environment and Material Science of HIT, delivered keynote reports.

Founded in October 2018, the Sino-Russia Forum on Science and Technology aims to build an open platform for Chinese and Russian scientists, which promotes academic exchange to consolidate research talents in mutually beneficial cooperation tapping into their expertise.

Centered on the theme of “Science Intensive Technology: From Exploration to Application”, this Science and Technology Forum is dedicated to nurturing pragmatic cooperation between Russia and China in the year of science and technology innovation and pursuing greater mutual benefits in basic science, state-of-art technology and other fields. More than 200 experts and scholars from Russia and China gathered online to offer advice on Sino-Russia cooperation contributing to science and technology innovations, lending new momentum to the development of the bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries in the new era.
