Students must finish the accommodation registration at the local police station within 24 hours of your entry (those who live in the Foreign Student Dorm, front desk staff will help you to process the accommodation registration). If you fail to finish the accommodation registration within 24 hours of your entry, you will be fined by the Public Security Bureau. The maximum amount is: 2,000 RMB. (Please register again within 24 hours if you apply for the new passport, new visa, move into a new house or re-enter China).

Students can get meal card from first floor of Xueyuan canteen, 1st campus. Business hour: 8:00-17:00. Document needed: passport, passport copy, student card or certificate that certify student status.

HIT offers mental health counseling services. Students who wish to utilize them can contact CIE staff or the student coordinator in your school, or make an appointment directly.Psychological Counseling Scheduling

HIT and CIE staff will respect individual student’s religious beliefs. During the period of learning in China, you have to strictly abide by the Regulations on the Administration of the Religion of the People's Republic of China. It is strictly prohibited on campus to do missionary work or send out religious propaganda materials. Posting or hanging religious pictures, text, or accessories in a public space is also forbidden. International students should respect different cultures, religious customs, and taboos.

International students at HIT for degree should purchase Comprehensive Insurance & Protection for Foreigners Staying in China of Ping An Annuity Insurance Company, Ltd. The self-financed student should purchase it independently during registration time.
