HIT Students Achieve Outstanding Results in International Landscape Design

October 18 to 20, 2013 IDEA-KING the 3rd International Landscape Design Competition was held in Beijing. Our school’s students achieved excellent results, winning 17 awards and gaining the outstanding organization award. The undergraduate group instructed by Lecturer DONG Yu, Lecturer QU Guangbin, and Lecturer WANG Wei of the School of Architecture won 1 gold award, 3 silver awards, 5 bronze awards and 6 honorable mentions. The graduate group instructed by Associate professor ZHAO Xiaolong won 2 silver awards.

IDEA-KING is an influential and professional contest run by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People’s Republic of China and the State Forestry Administration of the People's Republic of China and sponsored by International Landscape Design Industry Association (ILIA). There were more than 170 domestic universities including our school, Tsinghua University and Tongji University and more than 10 international universities including Suzhou Edinburgh Art Design participating in the contest. The theme of the competition' was Environment Friendly, Low-carbon Life, Beautiful China. The competition promotes the development of landscape planning and design of green ecology, and promotes the development of new technologies, new materials and new energy.
