On February 28th, Chinese Academy of Engineering academician and professor of Huazhong University of Science and Technology Li Peigen was invited to “the Scientist Forum” to give a symposium about “digital technique and intelligent manufacturing” to both teachers and students of HIT in the room 301 of the Activity Center. The president of HIT Zhou Yu met him and issued him an appointment as the speaker of “The Scientist Forum”.
First, Li Peigen introduced some relevant strategies of “German Industry 4.0”, “the Internet of United States Industries” and “Made in China 2025”. He introduced the theme of “the key digital technique in intelligent manufacturing” by using examples of the major research areas of DMDII and the key technique of promoting the transformation of manufacturing industry. Besides, Professor Li Peigen also gave a detailed explanation from covering five aspects, namely; data acquisition, data modeling, data driven, data understanding and data learning.
The academician Li Peigen explained digital technique profoundly with simple language and interacted with the audience, answering the questions about the demand for industrial robots under data driven as well as the impact of data security and big data on relevant industries in detail patiently.
The academician Li Peigen has been devoting to the teaching and scientific research tasks in machinery and manufacturing for a long term. Now, he is the chairman of the Teaching Guiding Committee of mechanical engineering under the Ministry of Education, the vice president of the 6th council of Higher Education Academy of China, and the chairman of CMES. The assistants of the president Cao Xibin and Liu Yanhong as well as relevant people in charge of the School of Electromechanical Engineering and the School of Material Science attended the welcome meeting and the symposium.
