Seven HIT-Lead Achievements Won the National Science and Technology Award

The 2020 National Science and Technology Award Conference was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on November 3.

Academician Wang Dazhong of Tsinghua University, Academician Gu Songfen of China Aviation Industry Corporation received the 2020 State Preeminent Science and Technology Award.

The research team headed by Academician Zhong Nanshan of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University, received the State Scientific and Technological Progress Award's Innovation Team Award, which is the only innovation team in China to win this award in 2020.

At the award ceremony, seven research achievements led by Harbin Institute of Technology won National Science and Technology Award.

Of all the awards HIT received as the leading institution, five were the State Technological Invention Award, and two were the State Scientific and Technological Progress Award.

The research “Advanced Nitrogen Biological Removal in Wastewater Technology and Application” led by Wang Aijie, professor at the School of Environment, “Ultra-Precision 3D Microscopic Measurement Technology and Instrument” led by Liu Jian, professor of the School of Instrumentation Science and Engineering, and “Fluid Pressure Forming Technology for Complex Thin-Walled Components” led by Yuan Shijian, professor of the School of Materials Science and Engineering won the second prize of the State Technological Invention Award, as well as researches led by Qi Naiming, professor of the School of Astronautics and Ye Feng, professor of the School of Materials Science and Engineering, respectively, for their contributions to the development of Space Station core module manipulator and aerospace ceramic materials.

In addition, the research “Key Technologies and Industrial Applications for Highly Reliable and Long-Life Lithium-Ion Batteries” led by Du Chunyu, professor of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, and research led by Lu Lihua, professor of the School of Mechatronics Engineering obtained the second prize of the State Scientific and Technological Progress Award.
