HIT All Media (Wang Xue/Text). Recently, the major program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC)- Design Theory and Key Technology Foundation of Transient Folding Deformation Mechanism under High-Speed Flight Environment has been formally funded with a direct fund of 15 million yuan. This program, led by HIT Academician Deng Zongquan, achieves the breakthrough in the landmark program of basic research in our university in the first year of the 14th Five-Year Plan.

Led by HIT, this program is jointly operated by the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Tianjin University, and Xi'an Jiaotong University. In the whole four subjects of the program, Academician Deng Zongquan and Professor Guo Hongwei from HIT each preside over two with a research period of five years. The program will carry out in-depth research on the basic theory and design method of transient mechanism, the coupling effect between high-speed flight environment and transient mechanism, and the service performance of the transient mechanism. The research results will expand the theoretical system of mechanism and provide a solid theoretical foundation and essential technical support for the innovation and development of high-speed aircrafts in China.

The major programs of NSFC serve the major needs of the scientific frontiers, national economic, social and S&T development and national security, deploy in advance, conduct multidisciplinary research and comprehensive research, play the supporting and guiding role fully, and improve the capability of indigenous innovation in China’s basic research.
