2025 BRICS Engineering Congress
To deepen cooperation in the engineering field among BRICS countries and advance the establishment of the BRICS Engineering Organizations Federation, HIT co-hosted the 2025 BRICS Engineering Congress, attracting over 200 representatives from 13 countries. The conference signed the Memorandum on Co-building the BRICS Engineers Capacity Building Center (Harbin, China) and released multiple significant outcomes, including the Initiative on Establishing the BRICS Engineering Organizations Federation.

2024 China-Eastern European Experts Cooperation and Exchange Activity
HIT hosted the 2024 China-Eastern European Experts Cooperation and Exchange Activity in May 2024, attracting over 250 foreign experts from 13 countries to Harbin for participation.
It aimed to accelerate the establishment of China’s new northern gateway for opening-up, advance the deepening and solidifying of high-quality Belt and Road development between China and Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), and achieve complementary advantages in scientific innovation and mutual development.

2023 China-Russia University Presidents Forum
3rd China-Russia Forum on Science and Technology
To better implement the positioning and requirements of the heads of state of China and Russia on bilateral cooperation, utilize the role of the Association of Sino-Russian Technical Universities, enhance exchanges in talent development, scientific collaboration, and cultural exchanges between universities, and advance the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Russia in the new era, HIT organized the 2023 China-Russia Education, Science, and Technology Forum Series, renewing offline interactions between Chinese and Russian universities after the pandemic.

To facilitate the exchange of cutting-edge disciplinary advancements, assist faculty in identifying high-level collaborative partners, foster innovative research ideas, and expand international scientific and technological cooperation, HIT encourages faculty to play an active role in initiating and organizing high-level international conferences. Over the past five years, HIT has hosted and organized over 90 high-level international conferences.
As the secretariat unit for the International Conference on Production, Education, Research & Application (Harbin), HIT has hosted one main forum and eight sub-forum conferences in the past five years.

Space Science and Technology Sub-forum of 2023 International Conference on Production, Education, Research & Application (Harbin).
HIT has launched and consecutively hosted three sessions of the International High-level Forum on High-end Measurement Instruments (IFMI) and International Symposium on Precision Engineering Measurements and Instrumentation (ISPEMI), which has become a top-tier conference with significant influence in the field.
In 2024, the 3rd IFMI & 13th ISPEMI were held, with Academician Tan Jiubin serving as the general chair.
Furthermore, HIT has also hosted top conferences such as the Urban Water Science Forum (2024), the 11th Asia-Pacific Regional Conference of the International Society for Terrain-Vehicle Systems, and the IEEE 16th International Conference on Electronic Measurement & Instruments (ICEMI). These initiatives have effectively helped HIT attract talent, and provided strong support for the development of an internationalized research environment.
