Event 1
On Nov 8-9, 2024, the heads of state of China and Italy jointly met with representatives attending the China-Italy Cultural Cooperation Mechanism Conference and the Dialogue between Chinese and Italian University Rectors. The leaders listened to reports from representatives on cultural and university cooperation between China and Italy. Academician Chen Jie, chair of the HIT Council (then vice minister of the Ministry of Education) and Academician Han Jiecai, president of HIT, were invited to participate in the aforementioned activities.

Event 2
On May 17, 2024, during the visit to HIT, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his appreciation for the leading role played by the university in continuously deepening Sino-Russian higher education cooperation over the years. He wrote the following message: Congratulations to HIT on its outstanding achievements in development. May it attain further successes on the path of educational and scientific advancement. Thank you for your contributions to cooperation with Russia.
Event 3
On Nov 3, 2024, then Serbian Prime Minister Milos Vucevic held talks with President Han Jiecai and exchanged views on cooperation between HIT and Serbian universities and research institutions.
Event 4
On May 12-13, 2025, Chen Jie, an academician and chair of the HIT Council, attended the First China–Central Asia Education Ministers' Meeting and the Ninth Meeting of Education Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Member States. During the event, he jointly established the China-SCO Doctoral Training Innovation Center with representatives of nine leading Chinese and international universities.
