Postdoctoral Researchers

Postdoctoral researchers are an important part of the faculty at HIT. They take up positions such as associate researcher and assistant researcher.


Eligibility Criteria

1. Applicants should possess a strong academic background and significant potential for development, they should have a history of outstanding research achievements.

2. Applicants should be able to engage in postdoctoral research on a full-time basis.

3. Applicants must have obtained a doctoral degree within the last three years.

4. The age of applicants for the position of associate researcher should generally not exceed 32 years old, while the age of applicants for the position of assistant researcher should not exceed 35 years old.


Selection and Recruitment Procedure

1. Associate Researcher Position: HIT will arrange a unified selection procedure and recruit the best candidates.

2. Assistant Researcher Position: Second-level institutions will select the best candidates. The admission approval and employment procedures can be processed at any time.


Relevant Benefits or Remuneration             

1. Associate Researcher Position: The annual funding amount for the first term is 310,000–350,000 yuan per year, while the research start-up fund provided by HIT is 100,000 yuan.

2. Assistant Researcher Position: The annual funding amount for the first term is 210,000–250,000 yuan per year.


Career Support

1. HIT provides a high-level development platform, actively recruiting overseas PhD holders to work at HIT and vigorously encouraging probationer researchers to conduct postdoctoral research under the supervision of top international research supervisors. It also strongly supports applications for various talent programs and funding.

2. HIT will pay public institutions’ insurance and housing provident funds for postdoctoral researchers, who will enjoy the same rights as the staff of HIT in terms of children's daycare and school enrollment.

3. HIT has a well-defined career development path for postdoctoral researchers: after the first two years, they can be re-appointed upon passing an assessment. They can also apply for faculty positions during their time at HIT, and if appointed, they will be managed according to the corresponding position.


“Chunyan” Talent Program

HIT has launched the Chunyan” Talent Program for post-graduate students with excellent academic potential, both among its own students and those from other institutions. PhD students who have been enrolled for at least two years but no more than five years, and who are in principle no older than 30, can be selected. Successful candidates can be appointed to the Associate Researcher position.
