“Shenzhou Scholar” Program
aiming at enhancing the innovation capabilities and international competitiveness of the faculty at HIT.
Eligibility Criteria
1. Сompliance with the laws and regulations of the People's Republic of China, possession of good scientific ethics, and conscious practicing the spirit of scientists in the new era.
2. Hold a doctoral degree and have an outstanding academic and research record.
“Shenzhou Scholar” program: For applicants who demonstrate strong potential for innovative development, have achieved outstanding research results, possess academic capabilities equivalent to national-level young talent, and show strong promise of becoming a leading expert in the field.
“Shenzhou Young Scholar” program: For applicants who have achieved high-level research results recognized by peers and have the potential to grow into a national-level young talent in the field.
3. Applicants for “Shenzhou Scholar” program should generally be no more than 38 years old, and applicants for “Shenzhou Young Scholar” program should generally be no more than 32 years old. For exceptional outstanding candidates, the requirements may be relaxed appropriately.
Relevant Benefits or Remuneration
1. The selected candidates for “Shenzhou Scholar” program will be appointed as a senior professional and technical position and the selected candidates for “Shenzhou Young Scholar” program will be appointed as a deputy senior professional and technical position or above.
2. Salary and Benefits (including national and local): for the selected candidates of “Shenzhou Scholar” program: 800,000 yuan / year (pre-tax). For the selected candidates of “Shenzhou Young Scholar” program: 500,000 yuan / year (pre-tax).
3. Research Start-up grant (including national and local funds): Depending on the characteristics of research fields, the selected candidates of “Shenzhou Scholar” program will receive a research start-up grant ranging from 1 million yuan to 3 million yuan; and the selected candidates of “Shenzhou Young Scholar” program will receive a research start-up grant ranging from 500,000 yuan to 1.5 million yuan. The grant will be disbursed annually according to the work plan.
4. The selected candidates may also receive rewards for high-level achievements, research performance, etc., with no upper limit.
5. If the selected candidates meet HIT ’s and the relevant disciplines’ basic requirements for applying for doctoral supervisor qualifications, a dual-supervisor model will be implemented. The qualification for doctoral supervisor will be subject to review and filing.
6. The career development path for selected candidates is generally the tenured position at HIT.
7. HIT will actively assist selected candidates in housing arrangements, children's school enrollment, employment of spouses etc. Second-level institutions will, in accordance with actual development needs, actively create favorable working conditions for selected candidates in terms of research facilities, research conditions, and students’ enrollment quotas.
