Vice President Fan Feng of the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) recently attended the 2025 Conference and Forum of the Silk Road International Alliance of Architectural and Technological Universities, held at Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology on May 15. He delivered a keynote speech titled Architectural and Technological University Education for Human Sustainable Development.
In his address, Fan emphasized the vital role of universities as hubs of education, science, and talent in advancing architectural technology. He highlighted HIT's commitment to sustainable development and its active support for the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
HIT has made significant strides in areas such as low-carbon smart cities, green civil engineering materials, and intelligent structures, achieving notable results in talent development, scientific research, and international cooperation. HIT's efforts, he noted, contribute meaningfully to the global push for sustainability in architecture.
The forum brought together 16 university and industry leaders from eight countries. Participants exchanged views on enhancing alliance collaboration, developing new cooperation models, strengthening scientific partnerships, promoting industry-education integration, and jointly building a Silk Road architectural technology community.
