Shuai Yong, vice president of the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), attended the Forging a National High-calibre Talent Hub Symposium in Hong Kong and delivered a speech during the panel discussion.
Shuai highlighted HIT's distinctive model for nurturing top innovative talent when speaking on the topic "Innovative Education: New Models for Future Talent Development".
He emphasized the university's commitment to value-driven, immersive education that transforms complex system engineering into interdisciplinary, hands-on learning experiences—fostering well-rounded individuals with strong practical skills, solid academic foundations, and a deep sense of social responsibility.
Meanwhile, Shuai signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Student Exchanges with the University of Hong Kong on behalf of HIT. The two sides reached a broad consensus on enhancing research collaboration and joint doctoral training.
As part of HIT's internationalization strategy, the university will further strengthen partnerships with Hong Kong institutions in three key areas: integrated talent development, collaborative research and innovation, and joint platform and resource sharing.
